QUESTION POSED ON: 15 May 2006
Is all spyware dangerous? Can we stop people seeing everything we do?

EXPERT RESPONSE
Not all spyware is "dangerous." Much of it simply creates a nuisance to the local user while others track stats for "marketing" purposes, and other types may be considered dangerous. The best way to prevent this is to run one (or two) anti-spyware tools - perhaps one for checking real-time memory processes, file/registry accesses, etc. and another for performing periodic system scans.
